Raritan Bay Striped Bass Charter |
Let the lines off at 5:45 out of highlands with David Shepelsky and sons aboard figuring it would be a good day to target the Striped Bass after all this blow the last few days....reports werent great from yesterday as alot of skunks were reported. Off to the grounds, dropped the hook and proceeded to crack clams heavily. Fish On within 10 minutes but spit the hook. Had constant action thru the end of the low tide but after that it was over....incoming tide ....nada....made a move east for any sea bass in the area but no luck. Put 3 keeper Stripers in the box and 11yr old Dillon had the biggest fish of the day....a beautiful 12lb bluefish that took him 15 minutes to get to the gaff. Multiple dropped fish and a few bite offs. However the action was only on the outgoing. Overall a nice day with good action on the bass this early in september on the clams!
